Bridges Without a Human Toll
On the collateral damage of another's war with themselves.
Practically Speaking, Updates.
This week meant completing the filing of my response package at the courts centre, the last mile before Chambers on October 16, 2025. With plenty of time spent in lines over the last 2 weeks, I heard many dialects of cruelty (human on human), the many shapes of fear, the shiftiness of scarcity.
As a self-represented litigant, the labyrinth of the process appears as a persistent taunt at each roadblock: Do you really want Freedom?
Practically Speaking, Building Bridges.
Amidst the loud chorus urging us to side with Brute Force Goliath for the “greater good of self”:
﹖ Have we lost a vital plot of purpose?
﹖ Has scarcity fogged our memory of communion with the human across from us, the neighbour whose heart beats and bleeds like our own?
﹖ Can Baldwin’s reminder that “the world holds because a few people hold the line” withstand today’s balk of courage?
I’m grateful to both journalists for making this conversation public. There aren’t many answers here, rather helpful prompts in relation to our vast and dividing contexts of shared living.
I don’t know what font will convey my desperate pursuit of Freedom, but I hold Hope with both hands that my legal warrior is near. This experience doesn’t just tax the body; it is too close to the soul now.
Practically Speaking, Freedom.
