Practically Speaking, Be For Real.
On reality checks and flame grills.
Health Updates
Your generous donations in November enabled hormone medication to be restocked for the next 3 months.
This period has lasted 112 days, but my body is recovering well thanks to resuming medication; the nausea and cramps have subsided, and I’m feeling my strength return.
Reality Check: Being short-sighted has meant making choices (or believing I have none) based on immediate scarcity, remaining stuck.
Practical Pivot: With the Freedom I have at present, creating an easy internal filter: Does this choice support my Freedom, or is it a temporary fix? Are you equipped to sustain this choice long-term?
Lawyer Referral Updates
Thank y’all so much for the influx of lawyer referrals since my #ineedalawyer campaign began! Many trauma-informed lawyers have reached out, and I’m so encouraged to find my legal warrior so soon.
I’m still unclear about the next steps since Chambers' November deadline, but I’m in touch with Court resources to better inform my future counsel.
Reality Check: Reduce triggers by booking phone/video consults with lawyers after confirming pro-bono offerings, and those experienced with coercive control and intimate partner violence.
Practical Pivot: If you find yourself explaining and justifying, it’s not a match. The sooner you adjust, the less suffering and time lost. Be a flame grill, not a slow cooker.
